UEFA and Euroleague Basketball greats will join athletes from the Special Olympics at the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Fan Zone in Trafalgar Square on Friday, May 10 for a celebratory unified basketball game as part of the 2013 Final Four weekend festivities. The first-of-its-kind goodwill game, organized by One Team, the Euroleague’s social responsibility programme, will tip off at 11:00 a.m. local time.
European football legends Christian Karembeu, Robert Pires and Graeme Le Saux , among others will be featured alongside Euroleague Basketball greats Ramunas Siskauskas, Nikola Vujcic, Trajan Langdon and Joe Arlauckas, all keen to share the spotlight with athletes from Special Olympics, a proud partner of One Team.
The unified game will celebrate One Team and the efforts made by Special Olympics, UEFA and Euroleague Basketball to use sport as a powerful tool for positive social change. The celebration brings together Euroleague One Team partner Special Olympics with the like-minded UEFA Legends, a group of ex-football stars who act as role models for UEFA's extensive community and social responsibility programme.
