A very familiar face is back with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv; the club reached an agreement with David Blu, who returns from a yearlong retirement to join Maccabi's active roster. Blu (2.04 meters, 33 years old) begins a fourth stint with Maccabi. He was a key player in the club's first Euroleague title of the decade back in 2004. He capped his first two seasons there by scoring 20 points in the 2004 Euroleague title game, which Maccabi won by a record 118-74 over Fortitudo Bologna. He later played for Dynamo St. Petersburg in Russia and for Benetton Treviso, Virtus Bologna and Fortitudo Bologna in Italy before returning to Maccabi before the start of the 2007-08 season, when he helped the team to make it to the Euroleague final. After a season with Le Mans Sarthe Basket of France, Blu played three more seasons with Maccabi, reaching another Euroleague title game in 2011.

Blu won a total of four Israeli League, four Israeli State Cup and one an Adriatic League titles with Maccabi. Blu also lifted the Semaine des As and the French Cup trophies with Le Mans as well as the Italian Cup with Benetton. Blu has also been a member of the Israeli national team. Blu has accumulated 1,349 points in 151 Euroleague career games, while hitting 225 of his 545 three-point attempts (41.3%). He enters the season ranked 16th on the Euroleague's three-pointers made charts and will keep thrilling Maccabi fans with his well-known shooting skills next season.
