Mike Batiste, Champ! - Panathinaikos - Final Four Barcelona 2011A familiar face was confirmed to return to Athens on Wednesday as power forward Mike Batiste will re-join Panathinaikos for the next season. Batiste (2.03 meters, 36 years old) arrives from Fenerbahce Ulker, where he went last season. In Istanbul, Batiste averaged 5.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 23 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games. He was part of an ambitious Fenerbahce project that fell short in the end. Prior to that, Batiste had spent as many as seven seasons with the Greens, with which he won three Euroleague titles in 2007, 2009 and 2011. Aside from that, he also won numerous domestic titles with Panathinaikos, becoming a much loved player by the Athens fans in the process. Batiste was also an All-Euroleague First Team selection for 2010-11 and Second Team selection for 2011-12.
